Keffiya produces Tale of the Cat filly

The capable and well-related Keffiya (Cape Cross ex Howkudai, by Don’t Forget Me) has produced her first foal, a filly by Tale of the Cat.

I purchased Keffiya for a client at this year’s Sydney Easter Broodmare Sale.  She’s a quality mare and if you’re a believer in type-breeds-type, Keffiya should produce some stunning foals in the time to come.

On the racetrack Keffiya won 4 races.  She was Group Two-placed at three in the Royal Stakes at Ellerslie.  She was also Listed Race-placed in Australia – that was in the Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury.

Keffiya is a half-sister to Maroofity (Maroof).  Under the guidance of Mark Walker, Maroofity won 10 races – three at Group One level.  He was New Zealand’s Champion 2YO of 2003.

A big name to emerge in this pedigree in recent times is Beauty Flash, the New Zealand-bred son of Golan who won last year’s Hong Kong International Mile-Gr.1.

Keffiya is booked to Pentire.
