Hanabananah due to foal to Road To Rock

One of the stakeswinning mares covered by Road To Rock in his initial year at Wellfield Lodge is Hanabananah, a mare I purchased on behalf of a client at last year’s Gold Coast National Broodmare Sale.

Hanabananah won 7 races from 1200m to 1600m and A$160,646 in prize money.  One of the interesting things about her is that her very last race day appearance brought about her best result, success in the Listed Proud Miss Stakes in Adelaide.

Her last calendar year of racing was, seemingly, her best.  During 2010 from six starts she not only won the Listed Race, but won two other races and was fourth on three occasions.

Hanabananah (King Charlemagne ex Langtryst, by Langfuhr) will foal down at Libby Bleakley’s Highden Park near Palmerston North before being readied for a covering by Nom du Jeu.
