Australian debut double for Nearco-breds

A pair of Nearco Stud-bred horses have looked the goods in making winning debut performances in Australia over the past 24 hours.

Today at Ballarat the Mick Price-trained Heptagon (Jimmy Choux ex Seven Schillings) stormed home from a long way back to win by a length at Ballarat in the hands of Craig Newitt.

This time yesterday we were delighting in the win of another Nearco-bred horse, But It’s True (High Chaparral ex Pennacchio) at Warrnambool.

Heptagon is the result of a mare Nearco Stud leased from David Archer.  We leased Seven Schillings – herself a black type winner and Group One-placed – and mated her with Jimmy Choux.

The resulting colt was born and raised at Casey and Michelle Dando’s Bradbury Park, Matamata.

Bradbury presented the colt for Nearco at last year’s Karaka Premier Sale and he was knocked down to Mick Price for $150,000, a price which proved to be the top sale for any first-crop yearling by Jimmy Choux.
