Class filly Secret Spirit has come through her fourth-straight black type victory in great heart and will spend all of this week in the paddock.
The daughter of Swiss Ace and Spirit of Sandford (Kilimanjaro) will spend her days outside at the original Wexford Stables property and be boxed in her usual racing stable position each night.
At the end of this week Secret Spirit will return to work with the Listed Soliloquy Stakes (1400m) at Ellerslie on Labour Weekend Saturday firmly in her sights.
Safely through that fillies-only event a decision will be made about a crack at the Group One 1000 Guineas at Riccarton Park, 14 November.
Collecting the winning trophy on behalf of the Challenge No.2 Syndicate on Saturday was the Sydney-based Stephen Taylor (see photo below). It was the first time Stephen had seen Secret Spirit race and he attended the meeting along with his wife Liz, mother Dorothy and daughters Catherine & Rebecca.
