Avisto, who put together three consecutive Listed Race victories during 2014, could make a welcome return to the racetrack next month.
Trainer Roger James has earmarked a Rating 75 over 1300m at Taupo, 18 September for the now four-year-0ld daughter of Tavistock and Miraculous Miss (Exceed and Excel).
Avisto, who is raced by the Challenge No.2 Syndicate (who also race dual Listed-winning filly Secret Spirit), was spelled after her unsuccessful tilt at the NZ 1000 Guineas at Riccarton in November. She was expected to return to racing in the autumn but a setback in training has meant a delay to her return.
Avisto galloped over 1000 metres solo at the Cambridge Training Centre this morning, returning 1.12 and 41.3 for her quiet hit out.
