Walk in the Park, who was third in Purple’s 2009 Queensland Oaks-Gr.1 (2400m) has been retired to stud and is currently in NSW preparing for a mating with Coolmore Stud’s Starspangledbanner.
A daughter of New Zealand’s Champion Sire this season, Thorn Park, Walk in the Park was purchased by Adrian Clark Bloodstock on behalf of a client at last year’s Gold Coast Broodmare Sale.
Trained for the majority of her career by Andrew Scott, Walk in the Park won races at Avondale and Ellerslie before being placed fourth in the ARC Eight Carat Classic-Gr.2 (1600m) and second in the ARC Royal Stakes-Gr.2 (2000m).
As well as running third in the Queensland Oaks, Walk in the Park’s black type efforts in Australia include a second in the Sunshine Coast Guineas-LR (1600m) and a third in the STC Parramatta Cup-LR (2000m).
